"The two spaces in fact exist only in mixture
smooth space is constantly being translated, trasveresed into a striated space;
striated space is constantly being reversed . retuned to a smooth space" (
The Smooth and the Striated, Deleuze and Guattari )
The topic is about residential home environment from our own history of living. While my thoughts were lead and based on an autobiographical origin (which was designed to discern the phenomena of the home and the environment, its needs, habits, and changes that had taken place in the long run of time) it was necessary to take in consideration the domestic ritual, which would generally be a daily but unique habit. The home ritual actually happens from the threshold – the entrance to the house, which starts from the road entering the cluster of homes, until the threshold of the house. This developed a direct sequence of the home and private space, being a ritual which is a smaller-scale fractal inside the house. The cluster of homes is actually built as a shape of a hand, with a main joint, secondary joints and brims. The dimensions of the joint are dependent on each other and cannot grow without any control. This system is actually dependent on the structure of the street continuation – the cluster is connected to the trunk, the paths to the existing homes are the branches and the paths to the new units are the thin branches. The texture of the cluster is actually smooth, existing from point to point where a line passes between them, while the new units of planning are located in the rough texture that takes place between lines (which a point is passed between them), there is actually a constant conversation between all the textures and they exist as a single unit.The plan allows the development of the fractal and circulation movement - to an extra exit in the cluster, and the neighborhood relationships are not ruined with the new units. The paths to these units will pass through the existing homes and create a secondary "artery" for this plan.
